The attitude of an athlete is one of constant competition. It is hard to convince an athlete to question their ability or convince them that someone is actually better than them.  I had to write about this because when you win a close game there is only one thing that both teams agree on. That the other team is shit lol.  The winning team believes they should have and could have put up more points and the losing team is saying the other team is garbage and they would have won if it wasn’t for one play.  To be honest both sides have legitimate cases to feel that way. Now I am sure someone is going to read this and take it the wrong way. But who cares its really how we think.

Shit the whole game during crunch time both teams are getting each other pumped by yelling “Fuck them. They scared. They are a bunch of bitches. They suck. Lets go out and bust these hoes ass”.  Shit I know I that’s what I say all the time. Lehigh beat us in college 4 years in a row and I still believe they were shitty. But I’m an unapologetic heel with social issues.

But at the end of the game you always think of that one play you could have made. Really the best thing to do is keep believing that other team isn’t shit so it keeps you motivated. Real good teams bounce back from close games and deliver some serious punishment to the next team to prove that the previous week was some bullshit. But thats what the athlete spirit is about. To never doubt yourself and always look to achieve more.  Thats one thing I do appreciate about growing up in the states where our sports culture really defines us and molds us into the people we are today. Without this disdain for believing that someone is better than us then we would seriously quit at most things. But we all have the belief we can knock any wall down.

Entering my 3rd game I am getting close to that number one spot. Luckily we are playing a pretty balanced team that actually doesn’t view me as threat what so ever which is honestly a blessing. Why you ask? Well because they will run the ball to my side, run drop back, and probably will leave one person to stop me. But after last game I took a step back so I need to get my ish together and come back strong this game.

I was interviewed after the last game and I was asked what do you think is a perfect defensive game and I responded with “Its hard say. For me zero to negative rushing yards, no completed passes, 3 turnovers and 7 sacks”. Of course it was translated into me saying that “Aki says their defense will give up no yards, no passes and get seven sacks”. Oh how I love the media here. But since its been put into the ether as they say in The Secret the goal is out there to attain which leads into this weeks stat predictions:

7 tackles, 4 tfl’s, 1 FF, 1 FR, 2.5 sacks

Oh yeah this is supposed to be our rivalry game slash biggest game of the season. So I guess I am an ass for even thinking I will have a good game. That Aki guy. I just don’t like him. He’s such an arrogant prick. Updates after the game. Oh yeah here is the link to the game if you want to watch.

Watch Now All 8 Episodes here

If you have an HD TV this show goes to a whole new level. Since I cannot enjoy the simple pleasures of watching tv I have to search all over the internet for illegally streamed shows. I’ve become quite good at it where I even started to watch some of the dumbest movies on the planet just so I can.  But I stumbled upon the  BBC Human Planet Series and I have been so impressed with the filming of the whole thing.  Great narrating interesting stories and for all our differences these people living in remote islands, jungles or deserts face the same exact problems we face in the metropolitan.

If you enjoy seeing how different cultures survive in obscure areas of the world or just like seeing amazing landscapes this is definitely worth sitting back and watching on a lazy day.

The most memorable moment in one episode was when two guys who live in the jungle spot a bee hive 5 stories up in a tree. They get excited because they can finally get honey. The one guys says “Man I have to go up there and get that. My wife has been pissed because she hasn’t had honey in a long time”. So dude climbs up a 5 store tree (free hand) and gets stung about 100 times just get a small amount of honey for his family. I guess no matter where you are from women will always get you to do crazy shit. So I have a link above where you can watch all 8 episodes for free in your spare time. Thank me later.

My First game back was about 3 weeks ago and I had pretty lofty goals to get back in the league leader mix in the PLFA. The stats finally came in and I came pretty close to my goal. I ended up with 8.5 tackles, 5.5 tfl’s, 2.5 sacks and we won 72-0.  I failed to produce any forced fumbles or talk shit.  Bialystok’s QB was tough as hell. Dude kept getting up after every hit like he was Rodney King. I respected that enough and kept my quiet.  Of course I regret it now because the teams moronic camera man and his jackass buddy had a whole lot to say ,which I found out after the game.

Rule #1: Don’t ever be nice to anyone on the football field because you will always wish that you would decapitated them afterwards.

Interesting tid bit of info. The trip was a 23 hour round trip.

Seahawks vs The Crew: Look at that pad level.

Second game was a week ago against former top 3 team the Seahawks. Going against a pass heavy team I figured I was going to add a sack or two but I actually fell short on everything. I finished with (guesstimate) 4 tackles, 3 tfls, 0 sacks and we won 62-7. Very pedestrian numbers and admittedly a lot of it was my fault because I stayed primarily on the right side of the line and they ran quick game, screens, rolled and scrambled the opposite way. I should have been more proactive in moving around more so they couldn’t predict where I will be.

The Crew vs Devils: Trust. No one wants us to win this game.

In two games I believe I have actually moved myself into the top 3 or 5 in sacks and it is a matter of possibly 2 more games before I am the leader in both Sacks and TFLs. It will be extra motivation this week because we play our crosstown rivals, The Wroclaw Devils where a young man by the name of Adam Matryba is the actual league leader in sacks. For me getting the most sacks is a game within a game. So now I need to make sure our starting Left Tackle has a hell of a game and I need to get 2.5 to 3 sacks to move to number one.  It should be an exciting weekend. Wish me luck people or wish me failure. Just as long as I’m in your thoughts.

This weeks competition. They all will learn to hate muwhahahahah!!!

…..well at least for me it is. Unfortunately a week before the season opener my back flared up something vicious. Worst kind of pain and couldn’t walk kind of bad. So I did injections and doctors visits (which cost way too much) to try to get back but with no luck I had to miss the season opener. Then one game turned into two and then three games.

editors note: was able to play in the 3rd match against the Miners but when they found out I was playing they literally panicked and told the refs that I wasn’t registered for the game. For what ever reason my name wasn’t on the game day roster and they forced me to sit out. They told me they didn’t game plan for me to play and they would have to change their offense at the last minute. Of course I was thoroughly pissed by this but it was whatever they thought it would give them the upper hand. They lost 60-0 and it was a four quarter ass stomping. Meh.

Now we are at week four and I am back to feeling somewhat good and ready to cracking some heads. The good thing is that we remained 3-0 and have beat every team handily and only given up 8 points. What is scary is that our Defense has yet to play our best game yet so we have room to get waaaaaay better which will be a problem for the team that catches our D on a good day.

I start my first game against The Bialystok Lowlanders which is probably the most suckiest game to play since Bialystok is damn near Belarus. A 10 – 12 hour bus trip to the middle of nowhere. If we were undefeated and this was the final game of the season there is a damn good chance we may have forfeited this game so we wouldn’t have to make the trip.

In preparation for this season I set a few goals for myself. I wanted to lead the league in TFL’s (tackles for loss) and break the league record in sacks and or getting 15+ sacks in 9 games (I think I have the record with 9 last season). This is still a goal but it will be hard as hell with me missing 3 games and the fact that I get doubled or tripled in some cases. But after 4 weeks of film watching, mentally preparing, and almost flipping my shit during the miners game I absolutely ready to try my best to commit a homicide on the field. And one last thing. There will be shit talking. Oh there will be tons of it. I cannot wait until the first person holds me so I can completely flip out and go off the deep end. It has been 9 months since the last time I can take 3 hours of my day and check out of reality and go on an unstable sociopathic rampage. GOD its the most therapeutic thing in this world.

Goal on stats for tomorrow:

Tackles: 6 / Sacks: 3(well shit I gotta get 15 right?) / TFL’s: 3 / FF: 2
